Luxurious golf course and spa for Hawaiian
indulgence
- Overlooking the Pacific Ocean and a 500-yard surf-swept beach at an
isolated end of South Kauai's famous Poipu Beach area, this spectacular,
world-class resort provides guests with recreational activities at the
golf course, spa, water park, and throughout the property.
- Consistent with the resort's classic 1920's architecture and decor,
rooms ease guests back into a era of stylish graciousness. Wood and
marble, air conditioning and ceiling fans, muted colors, and soft fabrics
create understated luxury.
- The hotel’s famous Poipu Bay Golf Course is the site of the PGA’s
annual Grand Slam of Golf, and offers high-tech features like an in-cart
satellite navigation system displaying the precise distance from the ball
to the hole. An on-course beverage cart and cold towels are also welcomed
by golfers.

GENERAL
INFORMATION

What to expect: The Hyatt Regency Kauai seems less like a single
resort than a tropical isle created just for human pleasure. Arrayed on
50 naturally contoured, lavishly planted acres overlooking the blue
Pacific, the 602-room resort is completely self-contained. Guests lounge
in swimwear during the day and dress in resort wear—often purchased in
the resort's shops—in the evenings. At night, guests are found listening
to jazz while savoring cigars, swaying to Hawaiian music, dining under
thatch huts surrounded by water, or cuddling on secluded wood swings in
the moonlight.
Amenity highlights: Some guests head for spiritual and
physical rejuvenation and pampering at ANARA Spa. Native Hawaiian
treatments and other indulgences include cooling herbal wraps and
traditional Hawaiian changes before Lomi Lomi massages. A paradise of
lava rock showers, sparkling pools and manicured gardens awaits guests
in a lush, open-air setting.
Many others make their way to the world-renowned water park that
includes a five-acre saltwater lagoon with beach; a 150-yard water
slide; and a manmade river meandering from the hotel through
exceptionally lush gardens and hidden grottos and under waterfalls to a
fresh-water lagoon pool.
Insider tip: Called "Share the Stars," a special dining option
allows couples to enjoy a private dinner with a private server at a
linen-draped table near the beach. |

AMENITIES
Camp Hyatt provides half-day, full-day, and evening sessions of
Hawaii-centered activities for children. The hotel's business center
offers complete services, including computer rental. The concierge desk
arranges every activity available on Kauai, including helicopter
sight-seeing flights along the spectacular Napali Coast, coastal and
river boat excursions, deep-sea fishing, and dining outside the resort.
Shipwreck Beach in front of the resort is for strong swimmers, boogie
boarders, and surfers only, although anyone can enjoy walking its
500-yard length. For ocean swimming, Poipu Beach, once declared by the
world's foremost beach expert as America's best, is two miles west. The
S-shaped beach's lower loop is protected by a manmade reef so water is
calm. The upper loop offers surfing and boogie-boarding. In between
there's great snorkeling among lava rocks around a small sand islet.
